The Director of Business Development is responsible for managing and coordinating all property lease and business development functions for the Dane County Regional Airport. This role involves planning and negotiating operating and lease agreements, coordinating development, and maximizing non-aeronautical revenue. The Director serves as a key liaison to business, municipal, and economic development entities, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and supporting strategic planning initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all property lease and business development functions for the Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA).
- Plan and negotiate operating and lease agreements, including airline, rental car, and concession agreements.
- Coordinate short-, medium-, and long-range development plans.
- Maximize non-aeronautical revenue for the airport.
- Serve as Airport liaison to business, municipal, and economic development entities.
- Oversee compliance with lease agreements and state/federal laws related to property development.
- Develop and enforce lease policies, analyze rate adjustments, and ensure timely communication with lessees.
- Manage the Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) program.
- Assist in the development of the annual and 20-year Airport Capital Improvement Program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, international commerce, aviation management or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in public or private economic or business development
- Ability to pass an FBI Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and Security Threat Assessment (STA)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in business administration, marketing, international commerce, aviation management or related field
- Five (5) years of demonstrated progressive experience in public or private economic or business development.
Nice to Have
- Experience in airport business operations, Federal Regulations, and airline use agreements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
