The Director of Athletic Compliance at Ball State University supports adherence to NCAA, Mid-American Conference, and University regulations. This role involves providing rules education, developing compliance policies, and managing student-athlete eligibility processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a culture of compliance with NCAA, Mid-American Conference, and university regulations through continuing rules education for athletic employees, student-athletes, and athletic interests.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Intercollegiate Athletics compliance and eligibility policies and procedures.
- Serve as the point of contact for student-athlete initial eligibility, pre-enrollment amateurism, waivers, and eligibility center communications.
- Develop and deliver educational programs to student-athletes, coaches, and staff regarding University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Support NCAA Financial Aid and Revenue Distribution, and Academic Performance Program Reporting as needed.
- Serve as a liaison with University units such as Student-Athlete Support Services, Admissions, and the Office of the Registrar.
- Facilitate matters associated with academic and athletic financial aid, foundation scholarships, and book scholarships.
- Serve as compliance liaison for department-wide camps and clinics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of experience in NCAA Division I compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Two years of experience in NCAA Division I compliance.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree
- 3-5 years of experience in NCAA Division I compliance
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of NCAA programs/applications and software systems (ARMS, Banner, Compliance Assistant)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Knowledge of current and interim NCAA Division I policies and rules
