Director, Engineering

About This Role

The Director of Engineering at Great Wolf Lodge is responsible for leading and managing all engineering functions across the resort property, focusing on physical infrastructure, mechanical systems, and energy conservation. This role involves developing strategies, managing budgets, and overseeing capital projects to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering organizational strategies and objectives
• Establish engineering operational strategies by evaluating trends and setting critical measurements
• Determine and monitor production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies
• Develop engineering financial strategies including estimating, forecasting, and managing monetary resources
• Establish best practice standards by developing policies, procedures, and workflows
• Conduct engineering project management, including feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis
• Maintain uninterrupted operations by coordinating and backing up supplied utilities
• Provide technical information by analyzing operational problems and summarizing data
• Update job knowledge by tracking regulations, participating in educational opportunities, and maintaining networks
• Conduct supervisory responsibilities including selection, training, coaching, and performance monitoring

Requirements

• Associates degree or equivalent experience
• Plumbing License
• Certified Pool & Spa (CPO) License
• Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Certified
• 2+ years of work experience with managing multiple teams of technical employees through projects
• 1+ years of senior management experience
• Experience with engineering design

• Previous experience in leadership role in resort/waterpark setting
