About This Role

This Direct Support Professional role provides comprehensive support to individuals in all aspects of daily living, focusing on person-centered care, community integration, and skill development. The position is vital for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of individuals while fostering their independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, person-centered services according to best practice standards
  • Understand and implement support in accordance with Individual Support Plans (ISP) and behavioral support plans (BSP)
  • Offer individualized and person-centered activities for growth and community participation
  • Ensure documentation compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, including electronic records
  • Comply with all health and safety guidelines, teaching and supporting personal care needs
  • Administer and document medications, and monitor self-medicating individuals based on guidelines
  • Attend medical appointments, providing follow-up with team supervisor or health coordinator
  • Contribute to a home-like, safe, and sanitary environment, including managing supplies and food
  • Protect the rights of all individuals, advocating for their capabilities and dignity
  • Maintain certifications and credentials, including CPR, FA, Crisis Intervention, and Level 1 Medication Administration

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Proof of high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and orally
  • No disqualifying felony convictions or substantiated abuse/neglect records in Missouri Department of Mental Health's Employee Disqualification List
  • Reliable transportation for client transport
  • Demonstrated safe practices and positive professional standards
  • Minimum auto insurance coverage
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination

Qualifications
