Direct Support Professional

About This Role

This Direct Support Professional role involves providing direct support to individuals, promoting inclusion and social-emotional growth, and ensuring their health, well-being, and development by following agency policies and collaborating with staff.

Responsibilities

• Follow agency policies and participate in related goals and plans
• Promote inclusion, social, and emotional growth for individuals supported
• Responsible for the health, well-being, and development of individuals served
• Work in conjunction with other staff members to provide the best possible care
• Actively involved in the creation, implementation, and updating of Positive Behavior Support Plans and ISP goals
• Support the IMPACT mission, vision, and guiding principles

Requirements

• Valid CT Driver's License
• Reliable vehicle with current CT registration and insurance
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid, PMT, and DDS Medication Administration Certification
• Essential physical skills to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, lift at least 50 pounds, push/pull against potential resistance, and implement non-physical and physical intervention and CPR

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate or bachelor's degree in psychology, human services, or related field preferred.
• At least 3-5 years of job experience preferred but will train motivated candidates.
