As a Direct Support Professional II, you will assist individuals with daily living activities, promote community integration, and help them achieve personal goals. This role involves leadership, including training and supervising other direct support staff, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals in making independent decisions and participating in valued community roles
- Teach and assist with daily living skills, personal care, and household tasks
- Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and accurately document progress
- Administer medications or support individuals in self-medication (MAP certification required)
- Advocate for individuals and actively support the achievement of their personal goals
- Foster relationships with families, guardians, and community members
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in the residence
- Drive individuals to appointments, activities, and community events using a van or wheelchair-accessible van
- Actively participate in and support individuals at community events
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or HiSET
- CPR/First Aid certification
- MAP certification
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Compassionate and patient approach to care
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and independence
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds (or 200 pounds with assistance), and remain alert during shifts
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or HiSET required
- 1-3 years of related experience preferred
