As a Residential Support Professional, you will empower, inspire, and support individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve greater independence, serving as a mentor and advocate. This role is crucial for transforming lives by providing personalized coaching, engaging in beneficial activities, and ensuring their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Guide individuals toward greater independence and personal growth
- Serve as a positive role model and trusted mentor
- Provide personalized coaching and support tailored to each person's unique goals
- Create meaningful experiences through community outings and beneficial activities
- Accompany individuals to appointments and social events
- Help prepare nutritious meals and maintain a comfortable home environment
- Ensure the safety and well-being of those in your care
- Assist with personal care needs with dignity and respect
- Implement positive behavior support strategies when needed
- Maintain accurate records to track progress and celebrate achievements
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to complete Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
- Ability to complete Criminal Background Check
- Ability to complete Fingerprint-based federal criminal history
- Ability to complete Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion verification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No prior experience needed, comprehensive training provided.
