About This Role

This role involves providing direct support and supervision to individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges, ensuring their safety, engagement, and well-being. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, implementing care plans, and fostering community integration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and supervision to individuals to ensure safety, engagement, and well-being
  • Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meal preparation
  • Implement and follow individualized care plans, supporting each person’s goals and skill development
  • Administer medications accurately and in compliance with agency policies and regulations
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
  • Utilize approved behavior intervention techniques to assist individuals in emotional and behavioral regulation
  • Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress, incidents, and other required reports
  • Foster community integration by facilitating participation in activities, events, and social interactions
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors, team members, and external service providers
  • Attend required training, staff meetings, and professional development sessions

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CMT, CPR/First Aid, and Mandt certifications
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certifications in human services preferred
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required; a strong commitment to person-centered support is essential
