This Dining Assistant role is responsible for serving meals to elders and guests, taking orders, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area and kitchen within a senior living community. The position ensures compliance with dietary standards and provides excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Serve elders and guests.
- Take orders for meals.
- Clean tables after meals.
- Prepare and serve meals for the dietary department in compliance with dietary standards, policy, and procedures.
- Clean the kitchen.
- Wash dishes.
- Return food to proper storage.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Strictly adhere to procedures regarding infection control, food-borne illness prevention, harmful chemical handling, fire, safety, and sanitation.
- Ensure appropriate snacks are available to elders with special dietary needs.
Requirements
- Kindness and a desire to work with the elderly
- Willingness to learn and work within a team environment
- Good verbal communication and the ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
