The Diet Technician assists the Dietitian in providing comprehensive nutrition services to a diverse patient population, ensuring appropriate meals, nourishments, and special formulas are delivered. This role involves patient interaction to identify dietary needs and preferences.
Responsibilities
- Assists dietitian in the assessment of nutritional needs.
- Interview patients to identify food preferences, allergies, and nutritional status.
- Conducts meal rounds, diet restriction monitoring.
- Maintains pertinent records.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Good communication skills
- High level of service delivery
- Attention to detail
- Computer proficiency
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Dietetics preferred
- 1-2 years of dietetic technician experience with multiple patient populations preferred
Nice to Have
- Associate's Degree in Dietetics
- Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR) certification
- 1-2 years of dietetic technician experience with multiple patient populations
