Diet Clerk

About This Role

This role is responsible for patient menu management, data collection, and diet office functions, ensuring compliance with prescribed diets and patient preferences, all under the direction of the Patient Services Manager and/or Clinical Nutrition Manager.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and collect menus
• Assist patients in completing menu selections in compliance with prescribed diet
• Offer alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies or sensitivities, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences
• Plan regular and modified menus based on current diet manual
• Prepare and distribute supplements, tube feedings, and enteral formula in an accurate and timely manner
• Prepare, distribute, inventtory and manage human/donor milk and/or infant formula (may be responsible)
• Adhere to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient's rights policies
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and TJC
• Complete all required documentation, reports and logs
• Follow facility and department infection-control policies and procedures
• Participate in facility-wide and department Performance Improvement Program and on Performance Improvement teams
