Developmental English - Adjunct Faculty

About This Role

Adjunct Faculty deliver high-quality instruction in Developmental English, fostering a dynamic learning environment for students. This role involves developing course materials, assessing student learning, and utilizing technology to enhance teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction
• Assess student learning through formative and summative methods
• Prepare course syllabi and design lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments
• Tailor lessons to different learning styles to ensure students meet course objectives and outcomes
• Incorporate learner-centered principles and motivate active student participation
• Evaluate student performance and maintain timely and accurate records (attendance, progress, grades)
• Collaborate effectively with students and colleagues
• Work constructively with individuals from diverse cultures, gender identities, language groups, and abilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Education or Reading
• Competency in technologies commonly used in college level instruction (Canvas & Zoom)
• Experience teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Education or Reading from an accredited college

Nice to Have

• Master's degree in English, English Education or Reading
• Experience teaching Developmental English at a community college or university
• Experience with ELL students
