This is a second-level administrative support position that performs a variety of clerical, printing, and mail related tasks to support a work unit within the Missouri Department of Corrections. The role involves maintaining office functions, preparing documents, and assisting with various administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Type and edit a variety of material, which may contain technical or specialized terminology
- Review documents for accuracy and completeness
- Serve as receptionist or information clerk, providing general information and assisting with forms
- Direct individuals to proper destinations and distribute messages
- Schedule and/or arrange appointments
- Compose routine correspondence and finalize letters, memorandums, and reports
- Establish and maintain filing systems; prepare records for storage and archiving
- Maintain office equipment and supply inventory
- Maintain records relating to receipt and issuance of materials or equipment
- Prepare agency documents such as purchase and supply requisitions, personnel and/or payroll forms, time and leave records and expense accounts
- Perform math calculations in the completion of forms and records
- Process and distribute mail according to established procedures
- Perform data entry and develop routine spreadsheets and databases
- Serve as a lead worker providing guidance, direction, and training to other clerical employees
Requirements
- Two or more years of experience as an Administrative Support Clerk (OSA) with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR
- Three or more years of experience in office support work; AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
- Two or more years of experience as an Administrative Support Clerk (OSA) with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System OR three or more years of experience in office support work
