About This Role

This position oversees the daily operations and administrative management for the Department of Neuroscience & Regenerative Medicine at Augusta University, managing finances, human resources, and space for a large faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage human resources administrative tasks including position classifications, recruitment, and faculty support.
  • Process J-1 and H1B scholar paperwork, including visas, invitations, and hiring forms.
  • Approve and enter bi-weekly payroll and exempt employee leave, advising on balances and FMLA requests.
  • Oversee all departmental funding sources, yearly budgets up to $19.6M, including extramural grants.
  • Approve supply and equipment expenditures, pcard charges, Budget Amendments, and Personnel Cost Transfers.
  • Prepare, maintain, and project effort for NIH Cap requirements for faculty.
  • Manage equipment inventory (approx. 800 capital assets) and space inventory in Archibus.
  • Coordinate building access, key requests, and oversee renovations for the department.
  • Assist with special projects, coordinate Neuroscience Retreats/Symposiums, and manage the weekly Seminar Series.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline
  • 6 years of administrative management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and professional decision-making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or related discipline
  • Six years of demonstrated administrative management experience

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field
