Dental Hygienist

About This Role

The Dental Hygienist will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, including cleanings, screenings, and patient education, to a diverse patient population within a non-profit community health clinic setting. This role supports the clinic's vision of providing accessible, quality healthcare to all individuals, regardless of their ability to pay.

Responsibilities

• Review oral health history and conduct initial mouth screenings
• Perform oral cancer screenings
• Utilize state-of-the-art technology like Itero, Digital X-Rays, Cone Beam Imaging
• Expose, develop, and mount dental radiographs
• Perform Perio Charting on new patients and during yearly visits
• Follow ADHA perio guidelines, execute root planning, and myofunctional evaluations
• Administer Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen to patients as applicable
• Take impressions for diagnostic and opposing models
• Educate patients on the importance of preventative care and home oral hygiene
• Use the Cavitron for cleanings
• Maintain detailed and organized patient charts
• Prepare, decontaminate, sterilize, and restock treatment rooms and instruments

Requirements

• Dental Hygiene certification from accredited dental hygiene school
• Current Dental Hygiene license issued by state where employed
• Current BLS CPR certification
• Certification for other duties as required by the State Practice Act
• Excellent positive attitude and customer service skills
• Professionalism and integrity in all aspects of job
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Strong organization, planning and analytical skills
• Ability to multi-task and remain calm in a rapidly changing environment
• Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs

Qualifications

• Dental Hygiene certification from accredited dental hygiene school
