This role involves administering and supervising key areas within Student Services, including Student Health and Wellness, Student Life, Student Conduct, Title IX, and the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). The Dean provides leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services, ensuring compliance and fostering student success and equity.
Responsibilities
- Administrate and supervise assigned areas including Student Health and Wellness Center, Student Life, Student Conduct, Title IX, and the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) for the college.
- Provide leadership to develop, organize, and implement division's goals and objectives.
- Plan, develop, organize, schedule, direct, improve, and evaluate assigned division's programs, services, and activities.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and legal maintenance, storage, retrieval, and release of all records associated with assignments.
- Lead, direct, and approve the planning, development, organization, scheduling, direction, performance, and evaluation of programs and services of assigned departments.
- Participate in the hiring, training, evaluation, performance intervention, and retention of faculty and staff.
- Organize, serve, or chair District-wide or college committees, initiatives, teams, or ad hoc groups.
- Supervise the preparation and submission of timely and accurate reports to meet college, state, and federal requirements.
- Provide leadership over, monitor, and adjudicate student discipline, including hearings and appeals.
- Lead and guide Title IX and the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) to ensure proper collaboration.
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university
- 3 years of formal training, internship, or leadership experience related to administrative assignment.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to demonstrate how equity relates to educational environment.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university, with an emphasis in a discipline within the Student Services division preferred. An earned doctorate is preferred.
- Three years of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's administrative assignment.
Nice to Have
- Earned doctorate from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years of increasingly responsible student support services experience, including 3 years of program management and budgeting experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Administrative leadership experience in the development, organization, and management of two or more student services programs, including at least one program area related to this assignment.
