About This Role

This is an entry-level professional case management role responsible for providing services to children under State supervision or at risk of State custody. The role involves learning various case management duties to ensure the safety and well-being of children and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Determine if abuse or neglect has occurred, identify the abuser, and assess risk to the child, and determine the need for a safety plan
  • Make recommendations regarding permanency, monitor adoptive and foster families, and recruit foster parents
  • Conduct home visits and coordinate/observe visitation schedules
  • Maintain documentation for case files and other required documentation, and prepare for, participate in, and testify in court proceedings
  • Conduct interviews with alleged child victims, individuals reporting abuse, and child's family, and gather required information
  • Identify supports for children and families, administer client drug screens, and conduct required assessments of home
  • Conduct face-to-face visits with children, resource families, providers, and kinship homes
  • Work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and after hours, and schedule appointments and meetings
  • Transport children to various appointments safely, assist children in preparing for placement, and sit with children awaiting placement
  • Communicate effectively and timely with others, engage with children and families to build trustful relationships, and encourage clients to overcome barriers and achieve permanency

Requirements

  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age on the date of application
  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Have a good moral character, as determined by investigation
  • Complete a criminal history disclosure form
  • Have no conviction for a felony
  • Agree to release all records involving their criminal history
  • Supply a fingerprint sample for a fingerprint based criminal history records check
  • Submit to and pass a pre-employment screening test for use of illegal drugs

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
