About This Role

This role involves the day-to-day operations of the Medication Access Program (MAP), focusing on data entry and maintenance for post-transplant recipients, and serving as a resource for healthcare professionals in Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Medication Access Program (MAP)
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate patient information for resource programs
  • Serve as a resource for Social Workers, Transplant Coordinators, Physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Monitor and audit new patient enrollments and reorders monthly
  • Distribute and collect patient enrollment packets
  • Research patient insurance information and select appropriate Patient Assistance Programs
  • Set up and maintain patient charts/records, including electronic conversion
  • Place monthly orders for patient medications
  • Formulate, plan, develop, and administer the MAP operational policy and procedure manual annually
  • Facilitate, distribute, and maintain the database for patient satisfaction surveys

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Considerable knowledge of computerized information systems including operation and maintenance of data files
  • Considerable knowledge of federal/state funded programs, policies, procedures, and administration practices
  • Extensive knowledge in the use of data processing equipment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with faculty staff, fellow employees, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to interpret computer terminology, data, standards, and instructions
  • Knowledge of medical office terminology
  • Ability to type at least 45 words per minute

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician with specific experience processing patient assistance program applications
