Data Center HVAC Service Technician

About This Role

Provide exceptional field support for data center mechanical and electrical systems, focusing on commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and quality assurance of HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair a range of HVAC systems including CRAC units, DX equipment, packaged AC units, water source heat pumps, and computer room units
• Perform system start-ups, diagnose malfunctions, and conduct repairs or part replacements
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as coil cleaning, fan belt adjustments, and ductwork inspection
• Install wiring and connect HVAC components to power sources
• Maintain regular communication with dispatch after service calls and update job status and service records accurately
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure proper use and upkeep of tools and equipment

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC experience
• Proficient in interpreting mechanical, electrical, and controls schematics
• Knowledge of PLCs or Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills
• Ability to work independently in diverse environments
• Clean driving record and ability to travel extensively

Qualifications

• High School diploma or Trade School graduate (or GED)
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC experience with significant field experience in service, commissioning, and maintenance

Nice to Have

• Certified Mission Critical Operator (CMCO)
• Certified Mission Critical Professional (CMCP)
