About This Role

This role involves supporting Detroit residents by handling inbound calls and assisting walk-in visitors with applications and property information. The Customer Service Representative will also provide guidance on website navigation and program details, contributing to a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities

  • Handle 50–100 inbound calls daily from customers seeking information on available properties
  • Assist walk-in visitors face to face with applications, property details, and program information
  • Provide guidance on navigating the website and online property portal
  • Transfer calls to internal departments as needed
  • Support faith-based organizations and nonprofits seeking to join community partnership programs
  • Learn and communicate program details clearly and professionally

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in a Call Center OR face-to-face customer service role
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Professional, reliable, and customer-focused
