About This Role

This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service in the FRIENDS Gift Shops, processing orders, coordinating with other functions, and acting as a customer contact regarding pricing, scheduling, and shipping. Individuals in this role will also provide inventory management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with inquiries, purchases, or other customer facing information
  • Assist individuals in the accurate application of their transactions and research records to provide status information
  • Provide inventory management skills including presentation, monitoring, and ordering of select lines or items
  • Maintain electronic files necessary to generate daily reports
  • Provide information to patrons regarding pertinent rules, policies, and procedures related to cash and cash-related transactions
  • Maintain confidentiality of university and student records
  • Lead and guide the work of temporary staff and volunteers where necessary
  • Answer telephones, process telephone orders, post invoices, and prepare and file cashiering documents
  • Make deliveries of merchandise to hospital rooms as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of experience directly related to retail cashiering and inventory management principles
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Record of excellent attendance
  • Ability to lift or move 35 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or related field
  • 4 years of retail experience
