Customer Service Associate

About This Role

This Customer Service Associate position creates a positive first impression for patients at Salud Family Health, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a pleasing experience within a team-based care model.

Responsibilities

• Serve as greeter, front desk receptionist, and/or cashier
• Welcome all patients and check them in for appointments
• Check patients out at the end of an appointment
• Make reminder calls to patients
• Answer patient questions and manage complaints

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED
• Work well with other patient care team members
• Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with patients
• Professionalism and a positive attitude
• Proficient in Elementary Math
• Ability to learn and implement complex policies and procedures
• Reading comprehension and writing skills
• Keyboarding and word processing skills
• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to work under stress
• Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors
• Exhibits excellent customer service
• Ability to explain and summarize comprehensive concepts in a way that the general population can understand
• Computer systems applications (MS Office, PowerPoint, Chrome, etc.)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

Nice to Have

• One year of front desk/customer service experience in a medical setting
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• One year of clerical office experience
• Familiarity with medical/dental terminology
• Sensitivity to the low-income and ethnic minority community
• Willingness to become proficient in the use of telephone, fax, copier, email, and electronic health record-keeping
• Ability to work evening or weekend hours
