About This Role

Maintain a clean, welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors at Southern University at Shreveport, ensuring proper sanitation and safe operation of cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas of campus buildings, including restrooms, classrooms, offices, and hallways, by sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces
• Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper sanitation practices are followed
• Prepare and use cleaning products safely and according to instructions
• Operate floor care equipment, including buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners, to clean, polish, and maintain both hard flooring and carpeted areas
• Assist with light outdoor duties, such as picking up litter or watering plants
• Set up campus for activities and events
• Work overtime for events and activities as needed

Requirements

• Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work
