About This Role

Perform CT examinations, ensuring quality and continuity of patient care, and assist in the clinical training of staff technologists and radiology students. This role involves direct patient interaction and equipment operation to produce high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and adjust equipment for taking film
  • Position and instruct patients regarding procedures
  • Perform all required procedures utilizing proper positioning, format, technique and protocol
  • Identify, interview and screen patients for proper diet preparation and possible allergies to contrast materials
  • Consult with supervisor, radiologist and physicians as needed
  • Explain procedures to patients
  • Assure that equipment has been calibrated and apply radiation principles of protection
  • Record procedure and pertinent data in patient’s medical record
  • Participate in the quality assessment and improvement plan, assuming responsibility for specific quality control duties
  • Monitor inventory of supplies, orders, and expired items and notify appropriate individual when stock is low
  • Monitor and report equipment malfunctions
  • Produce high quality images via digital imaging or hard CR cassette and present the film satisfactorily for Radiologist interpretation
  • Mentor and assist in the education of students
  • Assist with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation

Requirements

  • Associate's Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or equivalent specialty
  • Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 60 Days
  • Ability to work specified hours
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds

Qualifications

  • Associate's Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or equivalent specialty
