Support Grainger's business growth by collecting customer data and identifying equivalent Grainger products on-site. This role requires extensive travel to customer locations to gather detailed MRO product information.
Responsibilities
- Apply working knowledge of MRO industry and product information to identify equivalent Grainger products for customer requests following established procedures
- Travel up to 80% to customer locations to gather detailed product information about customer inventory needs
- Arrange travel, file expense reports, submit project documents, and provide updates in accordance with project timelines under general guidance
- Regularly communicate capacity and progress updates with team, leaders and other stakeholders
- Develop and maintain proficient knowledge of the Grainger assortment and cross-referencing tools and processes
- Share insights from daily work to support operational improvements and collaborate on enhancements based on stakeholder feedback
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent technical experience
- 2+ years in MRO experience in sales or customer service or equivalent work experience in technical field (I.E. Production Maintenance, Electrical, Safety, Metal Working)
- In depth working knowledge of a wide variety of MRO industries and product lines
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across all organizational levels to solve operational challenges
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes under moderate supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and other standard office software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines in fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
Qualifications
