Credit Representative

About This Role

This role involves collecting payments from customers with delinquent accounts, reviewing contract terms, documenting communications, and assisting with sales floor activities.

Responsibilities

• Send text messages, mail letters, and late charge notices to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts
• Confer with customers by text or telephone to determine reasons for overdue payment and review contract terms to gain payment
• Document all correspondence and attempted correspondence with customers concerning accounts
• Receive payments and post amounts paid to customer accounts
• Maintain and balance assigned cash drawer, ensuring it is locked when unattended
• Travel to customers’ homes as required to collect on late payments and assist with repossessions with Store Manager approval
• Prepare paperwork prior to legal action against severely late-paying customers
• Initiate credit investigations by telephone for new credit account applicants under Credit Manager's direction
• Log details of work activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
• Process, distribute, file, and maintain various documentation and reports
• Operate computer, printer, calculator, copy machines, telephone, and other equipment
• Log customer service requests into PQA and schedule merchandise repairs for customers
• Assist customers on the sales floor as assigned, including participation in sales floor rotation, greeting customers, demonstrating products, completing sales write-ups, and updating CRM
• Maintain an acceptable sales quota as established in weekly, monthly, and annual store goals
• Comply with Store Operations Customer Service Counter and Telephone Standards

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures
• Valid State Driver’s License
