Coordinator III - Regional Clinical Coordinator III - New Region Development

About This Role

This role ensures a comparable clerkship education for SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine medical students through site recruitment, scheduling, and process improvement. It also involves managing other clinical education initiatives within a new region.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and establish professional connections with affiliated clinical faculty while continuously recruiting future affiliated clinical faculty and sites in the assigned region
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with physician offices, staff, and hospital staff to ensure a successful teaching and learning environment
• Create a welcoming learning environment for medical students from the SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM)
• Develop and maintain a strong rapport with SHSU COM students and maintain a continuous schedule of contact and availability
• Provide professional and administrative support managing the day-to-day operations of assigned OMS3 and OMS4 year clerkship programs
• Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts to ensure each student’s schedule meets clerkship requirements for graduation
• Facilitate the Clinical Site Orientations at the beginning of each rotation
• Serve as a liaison between SHSU COM and clinical sites regarding third- and fourth-year rotation schedules
• Facilitate student and faculty access to the online scheduling, evaluation, and advising software system
• Coordinate the collection, tracking, and reporting of evaluations and grades for clerkship programs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 3+ years experience in a related field
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws
• Ability to supervise business functions
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Public speaking skills
• Ability to travel usually within the state/region

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in healthcare, communications, marketing, or public relations. Experience working within a healthcare institution and with physicians is strongly preferred.
