About This Role

Prepare and serve nourishing and delicious meals for residents in a memory care community, ensuring quality, presentation, and adherence to dietary needs. This role blends food preparation skills with a heart for hospitality to support the health and happiness of residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for residents in accordance with dietary needs
• Ensure accuracy, quality, presentation, and timeliness of food items
• Modify meals as directed to meet individual nutritional requirements
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
• Perform other duties as needed to support the culinary team

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or educational equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation and cooking (grilling, sautéing, broiling, frying, baking)
• Food Handlers Certificate from the County Department of Environmental Health
• Knowledge of food safety regulations
• Effective communication in verbal and written English
• Ability to read and follow menus and recipes, including substitutions
• Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia
• Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards

Qualifications
