About This Role

This full-time Cook role involves preparing and plating food, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring food safety within a new sports bar/restaurant in Washington, DC. The role supports efficient kitchen operations and collaborates with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards
  • Plate dishes ensuring quality and presentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Wash dishes and assist dish personnel as needed
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and sanitary procedures
  • Collaborate with team members for efficient kitchen operations
  • Assist in preparing ingredients
  • Manage kitchen inventory
  • Support other areas of the kitchen as required

Requirements

  • Proficient culinary skills, including meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitary procedures, and kitchen equipment use and maintenance
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team and maintain strong communication staff
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.

  • ServSafe certification or equivalent
