This full-time Cook role involves preparing and plating food, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring food safety within a new sports bar/restaurant in Washington, DC. The role supports efficient kitchen operations and collaborates with team members.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Plate dishes ensuring quality and presentation
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Wash dishes and assist dish personnel as needed
- Comply with all food safety regulations and sanitary procedures
- Collaborate with team members for efficient kitchen operations
- Assist in preparing ingredients
- Manage kitchen inventory
- Support other areas of the kitchen as required
Requirements
- Proficient culinary skills, including meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitary procedures, and kitchen equipment use and maintenance
- Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a small team and maintain strong communication staff
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations
- Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
