About This Role

Prepare nutritious and appetizing meals for residents while ensuring food safety and adherence to dietary guidelines. This role is crucial for elevating the dining experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes
  • Serve food following established portion control procedures
  • Ensure food is cooked at proper temperatures and complete required checklists and logs
  • Assist with inventory management and receiving deliveries
  • Work with the Executive Chef/Chef Manager to coordinate menus and special requests
  • Follow all safe food handling procedures, including proper glove use
  • Perform daily and scheduled cleaning tasks according to company policies
  • Adhere to therapeutic and mechanically altered diet guidelines as required

Requirements

  • 1 year of cooking experience
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion for working with geriatric residents and understanding their special needs
  • Ability to follow directions, multi-task, and work collaboratively
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of cooking experience

  • ServSafe certification
