As a Cook, you will prepare appetizing and healthful food based on the nutrition and health needs of residents within a busy Dietary Services team. This role contributes to providing individualized, high-quality healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Review menus prior to preparation of food
- Inspect special diet trays to assure they are correct
- Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of foods
- Clean kitchen areas generally
- Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies
- Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary
- Assist in standardizing the methods for task accomplishment
- Assure that food and supplies for each meal are readily available
Requirements
- Two years related food service experience
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree preferred, not required
- Two years related food service experience
Nice to Have
- Associate’s degree
- Leadership skills and experience (if supervising staff)
