Prepare and serve high-quality meals in a fast-paced corporate dining kitchen, ensuring attention to detail, safety, and presentation. Collaborate with a supportive team to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen while delivering excellent service and delicious food.
Responsibilities
- Review menus and assemble items needed for preparation
- Follow standard recipes and production sheets for nutritious, high-quality, cost-effective meals
- Evaluate food preparation and recommend operational improvements
- Follow kitchen opening/closing procedures and handle food and equipment safely
- Assist with training new Food Service personnel
- Report repairs and maintenance needs to the Supervisor
- Meet time deadlines for tray line, cafeteria service, and catering
- Utilize progressive cooking procedures for optimum quality products
- Utilize appropriate garnishing and food presentation techniques
- Follow daily prep and pull schedules
- Weigh and measure ingredients, ensuring proper refrigeration and thawing
- Document supply acquisitions, ordering and removing items from the storeroom
- Rotate supplies and maintain an orderly inventory
- Ensure food safety by following sanitary handling practices
- Follow specified cleaning procedures for all cooking equipment
- Utilize proper food storage practices: cover, label, and date
Requirements
- ServSafe® Certification
- State Food Handlers Card
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
