About This Role

Prepare and serve meals in a safe and appetizing manner for residents of an AgeWell Solvere Living community, ensuring compliance with dietary standards. The Cook role supports the Food & Beverage Director and maintains a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items on Food & Beverage Director's daily menu for Residents within scheduled time frame
• Keep food service areas clean
• Monitor inventory of food and supplies
• Supervise servers in the absence of the Food & Beverage Director
• Maintain clean, neat, and safe work environment
• Demonstrate knowledge of kitchen equipment including ovens, slicers, mixers, steam tables, steamers, toasters, coffee pots, refrigerators, and freezers
• Assure that Resident diets are being followed
• Report to Food & Beverage Director any loss, breakage, or waste of supplies and equipment
• Communicate any problems or potential problems in the dietary department to the Food & Beverage Director
• Maintain current cleaning list and highest standards for kitchen cleanliness

Requirements

• Serv Safe Certification
• Working knowledge of rules and regulations related to health and safety in food preparation
• Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures essential in accordance to state guidelines
• Knowledge of various cuts of meat and seasonings
• Demonstrated ability in a wide range of food preparation and skills
• Experience dealing with seniors and their dietary needs
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
