This role involves supporting the development and execution of sourcing strategies to drive efficiency, cost savings, value delivery, and risk reduction across the organization. It requires partnering with business stakeholders and suppliers to lead sourcing events, conduct market analysis, facilitate negotiations, and ensure compliance with sourcing policies and contract requirements. The contractor will work independently to deliver high-quality outputs that support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing activities across assigned categories, including opportunity assessment, market research, competitive events, and solution recommendations
- Develop sourcing strategies aligned to business objectives and organizational priorities
- Create and execute negotiation strategies that maximize total value and minimize risk
- Lead RFx development, execution, bid evaluation, supplier selection, and contract management activities
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and integrate them into category, supplier, and sourcing plans
- Deliver measurable cost savings, operational efficiencies, and customer satisfaction outcomes
- Build strong working relationships with key business partners to ensure alignment and adoption of sourcing strategies
- Facilitate regular supplier performance discussions and ensure compliance with contractual deliverables and SLAs
- Conduct and maintain category-specific market intelligence, including price trends, risk indicators, cost drivers, and supplier landscape analysis
- Develop supplier or commodity-specific strategies to optimize supply continuity, mitigate risk, improve diversity participation, and reduce total cost of ownership
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or supplier management
- Strong experience leading cross-functional teams through sourcing events and negotiations
- Deep expertise in sourcing methodologies, RFx processes, contract structures, and supplier performance management
- Ability to influence stakeholders in complex organizational environments with competing priorities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills, including experience evaluating supplier cost models and market data
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, balance workload, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality results
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or supplier management
Nice to Have
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring sourcing professionals
- Experience supporting executive-level stakeholders
- Budget and vendor portfolio management experience
- Proven ability to drive enterprise-level cost savings and process improvements
