UX Architect

About This Role

The UX Architect at CapTech will design intuitive and impactful digital brand experiences, grounded in user research and accessibility best practices. This role ensures alignment between user goals and business objectives while mentoring other practitioners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of personas, customer journeys, conceptual prototypes, and responsive interfaces following interaction design and usability best practices
• Lead advanced design activities such as design workshops, rapid prototyping, and iterative user testing
• Produce clean, informative, and concise presentations to clients and internal teams that communicate the rationale behind designs and recommendations
• Advocate the benefits of accessible design and usability with clients and team members
• Give insightful and constructive feedback on designs, including interactions, information architecture, content, and alignment with business goals and user needs
• Perform competitive assessments and provide innovative alternatives
• Research and understand design and technology trends
• Discuss scope and level of effort with senior practice area and account team members
• Volunteer for CX leadership opportunities, contribute to methodologies, capabilities, approaches, and toolset
• Attend and lead CX meetings and trainings, engage in professional development and industry involvement
• Proactively seek to mentor others about design, provide design oversight and art direction for visual and interaction designers

Requirements

• 5+ years professional experience
• Strong conceptual and visual communication skills
• Expert knowledge of interaction design and usability principles
• Proven understanding of user research and usability testing methodologies
• Strong analytic capabilities to provide insights and recommendations
• Proven understanding of product strategy, heuristic analysis, information architecture, user research, user interface and interaction design, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing
• Figma expertise
• Proven written, verbal, conceptual, and visual communication skills
• Experience with multiple domains of human-centered design including user and market research, product and experience strategy, information architecture, experience design, content strategy, optimization, and customer insight

Qualifications

• 4-year+ degree in design, fine arts, or similar preferred
• 5+ years professional experience, ideally in a consulting or agency context

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in Sketch, Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of Agile product development lifecycles and practices
• Familiarity with WCAG and other accessibility guidelines and standards
