Strategic Sourcing Manager

About This Role

Lead strategic and tactical procurement for American Greetings' Global Sourcing Team, focusing on cost reduction, growth opportunities, and service/quality improvement across various business units. Manage category specific commodities and non-category sourcing initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage category responsibilities including market research, strategic sourcing, complex contract negotiation, and strategy compliance for annual spend up to $50MM
• Manage a team of up to four associates
• Address difficult problems with minimal supervision
• Ensure department duties comply with legal, ethical, and policy guidelines
• Develop, implement, and manage organizational development and talent management initiatives
• Develop, implement, and manage efficient process workflows to optimize workforce productivity
• Execute tactical responsibilities (procure to pay) to meet business unit requirements for quality, timing, cost, and service
• Drive value generation through identification and implementation of cost-out and innovation initiatives
• Manage market intelligence research to define, implement, and refine category strategies
• Assess and mitigate supplier risk and ensure continuity of supply

Requirements

• 4+ years in a related sourcing/procurement field
• Excellent collaboration, influencing, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives
• Sound judgment with fact-based, analytical methodologies for decision-making
• Ability to plan and execute multiple priorities effectively
• Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Office, sourcing tools, and advanced spend analytics
• Experience assessing and mitigating supplier risk

Qualifications

• B.A. in Business or equivalent
• 4+ years in related field
