Construction Materials Testing Technician I

About This Role

Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials to ensure compliance with project requirements. Document findings and communicate results to the project manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel)
• Communicate with project manager, client representative, and others regarding project requirements and testing results
• Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites
• Adhere to strict safety standards, follow safety rules, and perform pre-task planning
• Report any safety issues or concerns to management
• Maintain quality standards on all projects

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 months experience
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
• Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 months experience required

Nice to Have

• Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire
