Construction Intern

About This Role

This internship provides students enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical school with practical exposure to the new home construction process, supporting project planning, subcontractor relations, quality assurance, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Learn about the new home construction process within assigned communities
• Gain exposure to project planning and scheduling
• Understand resource allocation and subcontractor relations
• Learn about cost management and the permit process
• Understand safety, compliance, and quality control
• Learn about the certificate of occupancy process
• Execute industry-leading customer service
• Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to schedule
• Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device
• Have face to face conversations with customers, co-workers and higher-level managers

Requirements

• Enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical school
• At least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma/GED
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications
• Savvy computer skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong organization skills
• Customer service-oriented mindset
