Construction Estimator

About This Role

Provide comprehensive estimating services during the preconstruction phase for projects exceeding $20 million. You will support preconstruction managers, senior estimators, or project managers by gathering, calculating, and compiling data for overall estimates or specific portions.

Responsibilities

• Gather, calculate, and compile data from quantity surveys, plans, and specifications for estimates
• Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-construction meetings to understand the scope of work
• Perform advanced quantity surveys and quantification of select subcontractor trades
• Prepare scopes of work with suppliers and subcontractors for review
• Incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity reports into figures
• Analyze and post subcontractor quotes and maintain a Budget Status log
• Analyze value engineering and collect historical cost analysis
• Foster positive internal relationships with project teams, safety, operations, and accounting
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Attend meetings with architects and/or owners to gather and disseminate project information

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or similar major
• Minimum 3 years of vertical building and/or estimating experience
• Previous field experience
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with CostOS, On-Screen Take-off, and Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

• A Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or similar major
• Minimum of three years of vertical building and/or estimating experience. Previous field experience essential to the position.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Asta (scheduling software)
