Join a growing team in Chicago as a Construction Estimator, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, bid proposals, and budgets for commercial, industrial, or general contracting projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes
- Analyze plans, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate bids
- Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and clients to ensure estimates reflect project goals
- Maintain a database of historical costs, unit pricing, and vendor information
- Track bid results and provide post-bid analysis for continuous improvement
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of construction estimating experience
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of construction estimating experience, preferably in commercial, industrial, or general contracting
