About This Role

This role is for a part-time adjunct Computer Information Systems Instructor at Kern Community College District, utilizing skills to teach and develop curriculum for diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning and service to a diverse student population
• Effectively work with students with a wide range of skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals
• Develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities
• Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges and universities
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Demonstrate ability to maintain subject matter currency
• Assess student learning outcomes
• Explore new technologies that would benefit the program

Requirements

• Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience
• OR Any associate degree and six years of professional experience
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher, OR Associate's degree and six years of professional experience, OR the equivalent.
• 2+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6+ years with an Associate degree. Experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment.
