Join our team as a Community Support Specialist, where you’ll work directly with adults living with behavioral health and substance use challenges. This position will provide personalized, community-based support to help clients achieve recovery goals, develop daily living skills, and access vital services.
Responsibilities
- Partner with clients and families using a motivational, strengths-based approach to support progress toward recovery and resiliency goals
- Provide individualized, holistic services addressing all dimensions of wellness, including physical, mental, and social health
- Assist clients in developing and achieving goals outlined in their Wellness Plans, including accessing needed services such as healthcare, housing, financial support, and community resources
- Offer education and skill-building to promote independence in daily living, symptom management, and recovery
- Collaborate closely with integrated health team members and community partners to ensure coordinated, culturally responsive care
- Support clients through transitions such as hospitalization and discharge planning, maintaining regular communication to promote continuity of care
- Complete timely documentation and uphold service and quality standards in alignment with agency guidelines
- Provide transportation and other direct supports as clinically appropriate
Requirements
- High School/GED
- Qualify for position based on overall CSS requirements in at least one of the options listed (e.g., Qualified addiction professional, Bachelor’s degree in a human services field, any four-year degree or combination of higher education and qualifying experience, four years of qualifying experience, or Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree)
- Valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage
Qualifications
- High School/GED required
- Qualifying experience must include delivery of service to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities.

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field
