Community Support Specialist - Adult

About This Role

This role will support adults facing behavioral health and substance use challenges by providing personalized, community-based support. The specialist will help clients achieve recovery goals, develop daily living skills, and connect with essential services.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in reaching their personal recovery and wellness goals
• Provide coaching and education on life skills, health, and community resources
• Help clients access housing, healthcare, employment, and other essential services
• Work closely with healthcare providers, families, and community partners
• Assist with appointments and provide transportation as clinically needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation

Requirements

• High School/GED
• Qualified addiction professional OR Bachelor's degree in human services OR any four-year degree or combination of higher education and qualifying experience OR four years of qualifying experience OR Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree
• Qualifying experience must include delivery of service to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities
• Valid driver's license
• Agency established minimum automobile coverage

Qualifications

• High School/GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field preferred

• Comfortable traveling to homes and community locations
• Communicate with empathy, adapt easily, and enjoy being part of a collaborative care team
• Possess excellent time management and writing skills
• Enjoy meeting new people
