About This Role

Coach the Girls Varsity Badminton team at Mt. Pleasant High School, fostering commitment, discipline, and teamwork. Responsible for skill development, practice organization, and adherence to athletic codes of conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental and advanced skills for badminton
  • Display appropriate personality and character traits for educational leadership
  • Organize practices and design an appropriate conditioning program
  • Manage and organize according to district guidelines and policies
  • Work successfully with parent groups, administrators, staff, and students
  • Maintain positive communication with the community
  • Instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork in young people of varying athletic ability and background
  • Help students balance academic workload with athletic commitment
  • Manage district fiscal and cash handling procedures for fundraising and purchasing
  • Maintain and inventory equipment and uniforms to ensure student safety and minimize loss
  • Follow CIF/CCS Coaches Code of Conduct and BVAL policies and guidelines

Requirements

  • Playing experience in badminton at high school, collegiate, amateur or professional level
  • High school coaching experience at Junior Varsity level or youth leagues/middle school in the same sport, or equivalent experience
  • Current State of California coaching certifications
  • Current certification required by the East Side Union High School District, including but not limited to ANNUAL mandated reporter training
  • Pass District Fingerprint clearance
  • Professional references
  • Must complete Edjoin online application, and submit a Cover Letter and Resume
  • Pass fingerprint clearance
  • Provide current TB test results

Qualifications

  • Playing experience in badminton at high school, collegiate, amateur or professional level; High school coaching experience at Junior Varsity level or youth leagues/middle school in the same sport, or equivalent experience.
