Coach - Boys JV Volleyball

About This Role

Coach the Boys JV Volleyball team at Independence High School, fostering commitment, discipline, and teamwork among student-athletes. Work with the Athletic Director to organize practices and manage the program.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental volleyball skills and techniques
• Instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork in players
• Organize and lead practices
• Work cooperatively with the varsity head coach and Athletic Director on conditioning programs
• Manage and organize the program following district guidelines and policies
• Communicate positively with players, parents, administrators, and staff
• Help students balance academic workload with athletic commitment
• Collaborate with all coaches within the sport program
• Follow CIF/CCSBVAL Coaches Code of Conduct and BVAL policies
• Handle cash according to district protocols as delegated
• Maintain and inventory equipment and uniforms as delegated

Requirements

• Playing experience in specific sport (high school, collegiate, amateur, professional level)
• Experience coaching youth leagues, middle school, or sports camp in the same sport, or equivalent
• Current State of California coaching certifications
• Current ESUHSD required certifications (including mandated reporter training)
• Pass District Fingerprint clearance
• Professional references

Qualifications

• Playing experience at high school, collegiate, amateur, or professional level in the specific sport, or experience coaching youth leagues, middle school, or sports camps.
