About This Role

Collaborate to maintain patient safety and deliver basic patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Monitor patients, communicate changes in behavior or status, and intervene as needed to ensure safety. Contribute to effective communication with co-workers, patients, families, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to maintain patient safety and provide for the delivery of basic patient care under direct supervision of a licensed nurse
• Provide constant observation of the patient and notify nursing personnel of changes in behavior or status, and intervene as needed to maintain patient safety
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, patients, family, and visitors
• Perform all functions delegated by the nurse staff and adhere to policies and procedures
• Support the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in the patient care area
• Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the ages of patients served
• Complete documentation of patient related tasks
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and appropriate communication style

Requirements

• Current state of practice Certification as a Nurses’ Assistant (CNA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (to be obtained within 30 days from hire)
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) (to be obtained within 30 days from hire)
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent time management skills

Nice to Have

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Hospital Experience
• Telemetry Experience
