CNA - Internal Medicine/Telemetry

About This Role

This role involves working collaboratively to ensure patient safety and deliver basic patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. The CNA will maintain a clean and safe patient environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support the plan of care as delegated by nursing staff within the scope of skills verification
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in the patient care area
• Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served
• Communicate patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams
• Complete documentation of patient related tasks
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and adjusting communication style
• Perform observation of patients and notify nursing personnel of changes in behavior or status

Requirements

• Current state of practice Certification as a Nurses’ Assistant (CNA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (to be obtained within 30 days from hire)
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) (to be obtained within 30 days from hire)
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Hospital Experience
• Telemetry Experience
