This role involves working collaboratively to ensure patient safety and deliver basic patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. The CNA will maintain a clean and safe patient environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Support the plan of care as delegated by nursing staff within the scope of skills verification
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the patient care area
- Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served
- Communicate patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams
- Complete documentation of patient related tasks
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and adjusting communication style
- Perform observation of patients and notify nursing personnel of changes in behavior or status
Requirements
- Current state of practice Certification as a Nurses’ Assistant (CNA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (to be obtained within 30 days from hire)
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) (to be obtained within 30 days from hire)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
