CNA Hospice Aide

About This Role

Provide direct personal care services to hospice patients, including assisting with daily living activities, meal preparation, and light household chores. Observe, report, and document changes in patient status.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to patients
• Apply safety principles and proper body mechanics for ambulation, transferring, range of motion, and positioning
• Assist with household chores and environmental services
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals, assist with feeding
• Observe, report, and document any changes in patient's status to the primary nurse
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse
• Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist
• Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant
• CNA experience within the last two years
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Liability insurance
