Clinical Research Occupational Therapist

About This Role

This Clinical Research Occupational Therapist leads clinical research studies for patients recovering from stroke and other acute neurological injuries. The role involves assessing patient abilities, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of patients' physical, mental, and developmental abilities
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments
• Implement and monitor treatment plans, adjusting as needed
• Provide education to patients and their families about therapeutic activities and exercises they can do at home
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes
• Attend staff meetings, continuing education programs, and professional development activities

Requirements

• Master's Degree Occupational Therapy
• Massachusetts Occupational Therapist License
• Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent time management skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Master's Degree Occupational Therapy required
• 0-1 year of occupational therapist experience preferred, and 0-1 year experience in residential/assisted living or skilled nursing facility preferred.

Nice to Have

• Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
• 0-1 year occupational therapist experience
• 0-1 year experience in a residential/assisted living or skilled nursing facility
