About This Role

Join a research team in pediatric emergency medicine to screen and recruit patients for research studies, focused on improving patient care and outcomes. Coordinate and provide regulatory and administrative support for multiple clinical research projects, interacting with patients, families, physicians, and nurses.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and recruit patients and families in research studies to improve patient care and outcomes
  • Provide coordination, regulatory and administrative support for multiple clinical research projects
  • Interact with patients, families, physicians and nurses
  • Provide coordination for clinical research projects such as registries, retrospective data reviews, long-term follow-up, and other non-interventional studies
  • Collaborate with clinical care teams, investigators, data coordinating center teams, patients and families
  • Provide updates on progress of research, subject-related challenges, recruitment strategies, and specific policies and procedures
  • Develop and gain competence in human subjects enrollment and pediatric specific policies
  • Develop and gain competence in scientific concepts and research design
  • Develop and gain competence in ethical participant safety considerations
  • Develop and gain competence in clinical study operations (GCPs)
  • Develop and gain competence in study and site management
  • Develop and gain competence in regulatory management (IRBs)
  • Develop and gain competence in data management and informatics

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is necessary, Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Effective organizational, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional ability in handling multiple tasks
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in health science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience in a large complex health care setting
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and faculty of all levels
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures
